Daniel R. Kauffman, M.D.
Dr. Kauffman conducts a general adult psychiatric practice. His particular interests include treating individuals with depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder and relationship difficulties. In addition to pharmacologic approaches, Dr. Kauffman uses a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, psycho-educational and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. Dr. Kauffman received his medical degree from the University of Maryland in 2002 and completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Virginia in 2006. He is a Diplomate of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Kauffman is in the office for appointments Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. If you are new to his practice, please call him at 301-897-0099 ext. 303 to discuss scheduling a consultation.

Dr. Kauffman participates with United Healthcare and our office will file claims for you. Additionally, many insurance policies have an out-of-network benefit which typically reimburses you for a portion of your payment. Our Office Manager, LaShawn Farrish, can provide guidance with this process.
