Amarachi Nwaije, M.D.

Amarachi Nwaije M.D is a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of Mood and Anxiety disorders including Major depressive disorder, Bipolar disorder, Generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD, and Autism spectrum disorder. She has extensive experience providing comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, medication management, to her patients in various settings including hospitals, emergency rooms, schools, outpatient mental health clinics, and telepsychiatry.
She understands the value of getting to know her patients/families and the importance of Patient-centered care. She recognizes her patients as whole individuals who are also part of a larger system in which they function. She is passionate about providing quality, evidence-based care and educating her patients and families about mental health, mental illness, treatment options, and overall wellness.
While she recognizes that medication is helpful in the management of psychiatric conditions, she often incorporates lifestyle changes and cognitive-based strategies as part of treatment. She also frequently recommends individual and/or family psychotherapy as an essential part of treatment.
She also spends a lot of time volunteering and giving back, working with orphanages and children in countries with poor access to healthcare.
