Lisa S. Zucker, M.D.

Dr. Zucker conducts a general adult psychiatry practice. Engaging with her patients in a therapeutic partnership, she incorporates both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology as dictated by her patient’s individual needs and circumstances. The scope of Dr. Zucker’s practice includes, but is not limited to, the evaluation and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, relationship and parenting issues, and the emotional impact of medical illness. She places great value on understanding her patients in their individual contexts, and uses a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, narrative work, education, and traditional talk therapy. Dr. Zucker’s particular interests include the mind-body connection and the impact of stress, the environment and lifestyle on an individual’s mental health and wellness.
Dr. Zucker received her medical degree in 1997 from New York University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Texas, where she was the Assistant Chief Resident. Dr. Zucker is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and is a member of the Washington Psychiatric Society.
