Meet Dr. Kauffman
Dr. Kauffman conducts a general adult psychiatric practice. His particular interests include treating individuals with depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder and relationship difficulties. In addition to pharmacologic approaches, Dr. Kauffman uses a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, psycho-educational and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Dr. Kauffman also helps patients with Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) by providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and nasal ketamine (Spravato) treatments through a partnership with Greenbrook TMS.
Dr. Kauffman received his medical degree from the University of Maryland in 2002 and completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Virginia in 2006. He is a Diplomate of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Kauffman is available for appointments in the office on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Insurance Information
Dr. Kauffman does not directly participate with any insurance companies. Many insurance policies have an out-of-network benefit which may reimburse you for a portion of your payment. Our practice manager can provide guidance with this process.
